6th August 1961: Sam leaps into the body of Lester ‘Doc’ Fuller, a pitcher for minor-league baseball team ‘The Mustangs’. Sam learns from Al that Doc was once a major-league player, but after he inadvertently killed a bystander with a ball during a game, he went missing and eventually wound up in his current situation; with Doc destined to hit the skids and drink himself to death, Sam’s mission seems pretty clear. However, he soon becomes distracted by the plight of a fellow team-mate, Chucky Marrowitz, a hot-heated pitcher estranged from his father. With an important game against ‘The Eagles’ coming up, Al must ensure that Sam keeps his focus on getting Doc back amongst the big league players…
